I was diagnosed unexpectedly with lupus in 2011 and went from traveling in Europe to an aggressive round of chemotherapy within a matter of days. After about a year of chemotherapy and high-dose steroid treatment, my autoimmune disease went into remission. Without warning, it returned in April 2016 and claimed my two kidneys and damaged my heart and lungs, and I was then diagnosed with end-stage kidney disease. I am currently on dialysis three days a week to survive but continuing to trust and praise God through my circumstances! I am on a mission to raise lupus and kidney disease awareness, and prayerfully identify a living kidney donor. This is my blog where I intend to share my stories of hope, survival in the midst, and for those who may be interested…how you can help!
